Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of ClipSnip, a Windows clipboard manager application ("the Software"), and your purchase of a ClipSnip license ("the License"). By purchasing or using ClipSnip, you agree to these terms.

1. License Grant

1.1 What You Get

When you purchase ClipSnip, you receive a lifetime, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on up to three (3) computers that you personally own or control.

1.2 One User, Three Devices

Each license is for one individual user. You may install ClipSnip on:

  • Your work computer
  • Your home computer
  • A laptop, travel device, or backup machine

All three installations must be used by the same person (the license holder). You may not share your license key with other people, family members, or colleagues. Each person using ClipSnip needs their own license.

1.3 Device Transfers

You may deactivate ClipSnip on one computer and activate it on another at any time, as long as the total number of active installations does not exceed three. To deactivate:

  • Go to Settings → License in ClipSnip and click "Deactivate"
  • Or email support@getclipsnip.com to manually deactivate a machine

This allows you to move your license to new computers when you upgrade or replace hardware.

1.4 Lifetime License

"Lifetime" means:

  • You pay once and own the license forever
  • All future updates, features, and bug fixes are free
  • No subscriptions, no renewals, no recurring charges
  • The license does not expire as long as ClipSnip continues to exist as a product

2. Permitted Use

You may:

  • Use ClipSnip for personal or commercial purposes
  • Install ClipSnip on up to three computers you own or control
  • Receive all software updates at no additional cost

3. Prohibited Use

You may not:

  • Share your license key with other people
  • Resell, sublicense, rent, or lease your license to others
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software (except where permitted by law)
  • Remove or obscure copyright notices, watermarks, or branding from the Software
  • Use ClipSnip on more than three computers simultaneously
  • Use a single license for multiple users, teams, or organizations

4. Team & Volume Licenses

If you want to use ClipSnip for multiple people (family, team, or company), each person needs their own individual license. For purchases of 5 or more licenses, email support@getclipsnip.com for volume pricing.

5. Payment & Pricing

5.1 One-Time Purchase

ClipSnip is sold as a one-time purchase for $29 USD. This price includes:

  • Lifetime license for one user on up to three devices
  • All current features
  • All future updates and features at no extra cost

We reserve the right to change the price for new purchases at any time, but your license price is locked in once you buy.

5.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. We do not store or have access to your credit card information. Lemon Squeezy's terms apply to all transactions: lemonsqueezy.com/terms

6. Refund Policy

6.1 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a 30-day, no-questions-asked refund policy. If you're not satisfied with ClipSnip for any reason, email support@getclipsnip.com within 30 days of purchase and we'll issue a full refund.

6.2 After 30 Days

Refunds are not available after the 30-day window, except in cases of:

  • A critical bug that makes the Software unusable (and we cannot fix it in a reasonable timeframe)
  • Duplicate purchases made by mistake
  • Circumstances we determine, at our sole discretion, warrant an exception

7. License Delivery & Recovery

7.1 Delivery

Your license key will be sent to the email address you provide at checkout immediately after purchase. Please check your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes.

7.2 Lost License Keys

If you lose your license key, email support@getclipsnip.com from the email address you used to purchase, and we'll resend it to you.

8. Software Updates

ClipSnip periodically checks for updates and downloads them automatically in the background. You control when updates are applied — ClipSnip will notify you when an update is ready and prompt you to restart to install it. You can also disable automatic update checks in Settings if you prefer to update manually.

All updates are free forever and included with your license.

9. Support

We provide email support at support@getclipsnip.com. While we strive to respond quickly, we do not guarantee specific response times or 24/7 availability. Support is provided on a best-effort basis.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

ClipSnip is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • That the Software will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted
  • That the Software will meet your specific requirements

We make no guarantees that ClipSnip will be compatible with all hardware, software, or future versions of Windows. While we test thoroughly, software bugs may occur.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use (or inability to use) ClipSnip, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data, clipboard history, or files
  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

In no event will our total liability exceed the amount you paid for your ClipSnip license ($29 USD).

11.1 Data Backup Responsibility

While ClipSnip encrypts and stores your clipboard history locally, you are responsible for backing up your own data. We recommend periodically exporting important clips or backing up your %APPDATA%\ClipSnip\ folder. We are not liable for any loss of clipboard history due to:

  • Hardware failure, corruption, or data loss
  • Software bugs, crashes, or updates
  • User error (e.g., accidental deletion, uninstallation)
  • Operating system issues, malware, or third-party interference

12. Privacy & Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. ClipSnip is designed to be local-first and private by default:

  • Your clipboard history stays on your computer, encrypted with AES-256
  • We do not collect telemetry, analytics, or usage data
  • We do not sync your data to the cloud or transmit it to our servers

13. Termination

These terms remain in effect until terminated. We may terminate your license if you:

  • Violate these terms (e.g., share your license key, use it on more than three devices)
  • Use ClipSnip for unlawful purposes
  • Reverse-engineer or redistribute the Software

Upon termination, you must stop using ClipSnip and uninstall it from all devices. Sections that should survive termination (e.g., Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability) will remain in effect.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you via email if the changes are significant. Continued use of ClipSnip after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with those laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Entire Agreement

These terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding ClipSnip and supersede all prior agreements or understandings.
